Our Summer sermon series this year is, “He Really Said That?!” We’ll take a look at some of the shocking statements Jesus made during his ministry. Statements like:
- Anger = murder
- Being maimed > continuing to sin
- Unless you hate your family, you cannot be my disciple
These statements can be difficult to swallow in light of the kind, loving, Jesus that we prefer to envision. However, Jesus really said this and a lot more. Check us out Sunday at 11 am to get to the bottom of Jesus’ shocking statements!

The Haiti Team is Headed Back!
Since 2009 we have been supporting Christian Light School in Port-au-Prince Haiti by completing new construction, teaching teachers, teaching first aid, building on to the school electrical system and building furniture.
With a large list of things to do that includes solar panel work, replacement of chair seats, repair of cabinets, relocate and install several water tanks, we are headed back. It is our pleasure to support this school with over 325 students where they hear the word of God and receive two meals a day while learning and preparing for their futures. This ministry also includes the baby feeding program in the ravine, so those children will be healthy when they enter school.

The team is needing your help!
We are quite short on funds for this trip. You can give online for the Haiti Trip (mark it Haiti). For the next two Sundays (17th & 24th) and we will have the love offering envelopes out in support of repairs of the Christian Light School.
It was also requested to take some items with us to Haiti:
Baby Formula, Infant Vitamins, CRAYOLA Crayons, #2 Yellow Pencils and some extra $$$ for meals, lodging & supplies that we will need.
If you would like to help with this request, there will be a box by the church office for you to place these items into. If you would like to help out financially, mark your envelope or check “Haiti” to help with some expenses and supplies we need to work on the school.

Bill Koehn Mission Offering
Rick and Connie are home missionaries to South Central Colorado. We support them on a year round basis. We’re following there July schedule, a few personal words, along with praise and prayer.
2 VBS’S + MEDICAL CLINIC!
July 2 – Travel home after Glade Park VBS
July 3-9 – Home, regroup and prepare for Cotopaxi VBS
July 8 – Lanreotide injection
July 10 – Attend church at Cotopaxi Community Church
July 11-15 – Cotopaxi VBS (This will be a daily 40-minute commute for us.)
July 17 – Church at our home church, Grace Church in Salida!!
July 18-22 – Home, regroup and prepare for last VBS
July 23 – Travel to Crowley, CO
July 24 – Church at Crowley Community Baptist Church
July 25-29 – Crowley VBS
July 30 – Travel home
The summer is planned. We obviously got interrupted during the first part of the year and have to make allowances for medical issues, but we are now in full “prep mode” for camp and VBS. We will still be dealing with road construction and delays on the western slope as we go to camp and VBS. This is the SAME construction we dealt with last year. We will try to do most of our travelling on the weekends when there are no closures, but that will not always work, necessitating a long detour to the north. Thankfully, at this time, the roads look clear for traveling east from home!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Connie’s Health – 1) For the medication to have the intended effect, to slow/stop the tumors from growing in her pancreas and liver.
2) For the scheduling of the multi- disciplinary medical clinic in July.
3) For positive news concerning having surgery to remove the tumors.
4) Continued finances to cover the medical expenses.
Pray for restful nights of sleep for body and mind and physical stamina as we continue to heal from all that has happened this year while entering another busy ministry season.
Safety in the many miles we will be travelling.
For Caleb (20) and Aubree (17) at home while we are gone.
For the salvation and spiritual growth of kids attending camp and/or VBS.
For our vehicle to sustain the many miles and not break down.
PRAISES
Connie’s Health – 1) Her medication is acting better than we expected with no nausea or injection site pain.
2) Her symptoms are staying at a minimum and tolerable.
3) God is continuing to supply the funds for the medical bills.
Rick had a cataract removed from his left eye and a tag (from a cataract removal on his right eye 11 years ago) removed. He is amazed and thankful to see much better now!
With help from several people, the Yukon is MOSTLY free of issues. A code, and much research, are pointing toward needing a catalytic converter replacement.
Our goal this year for the Bill Koehn offering is $2,000. Please prayerfully and sacrificially give to support our Bill Koehn Mission Offering and help reach out locally for Christ.
