Seward County and the Liberal Area Coalition for Families have set up a fund at Equity Bank if you would like to donate to families who have been affected by the tornado that hit our community last Sunday. If you would like to donate, please make checks out to LACF and write 2-26-23 on the memo line and take it to Equity Bank.

There is also a work day planned for this Saturday, March 4th from 9-2 at the Sage Mobile Home Park. You don’t have to work the whole time, but anyone who would be willing to come and serve is invited. Bring your gloves and pickups if you have one. They ask that you don’t take pictures while you are there working.
“In Liberal as in Heaven” is a series about living heavenly values right here in Liberal – at home, at work, in your neighborhood, at grocery stores and restaurants, while resting and competing. When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, part of that prayer was, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”. Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God more than any other subject during his ministry… Maybe it’s time we talked about it too!

“United: Called To Be One” Is this year’s theme for our Annie Armstrong Offering.

Reaching people for Christ in North America through the North American Mission Board (NAMB).
With this years goal of $2,000 we can read stories of how NAMB is using funds to reach places where people need to hear the words of Christ and given them the opportunity to respond, with “Yes Lord, here am I”.
Philip & Andi Coleman:  Passing the baton

Anchorage, Alaska has a rugged, forbidding environment. That’s also true for churches. Thirty percent of Alaskan Southern Baptist churches have died in the last six year’s.

Philip and Andi Coleman uprooted their lives in Kentucky and moved to Anchorage determined to change that statistic. After taking the helm of church plant True North Church, Philip learned about an older church that was dying. It had a building and little else, but the remaining members wanted a new start. So, the young community of True North Church and the older congregants of Muldoon Road Baptist Church merged to serve their community as one.

Now, Philip is helping others learn how to reach the unique culture and extreme climate of Alaska. He has started a strategic residency program for church planters so the next six years of church growth in Alaska will look different from the last.

“I don’t think there’s a seminary or a residency anywhere else that can get you completely ready for Alaska,” says Philip. “You need to be here for a year or more to know this place.”

Prayer Requests
  • The Colemans as they reach a culture that doesn’t see a
    need for Jesus.
  • The residency to grow new missionaries to reach Alaska.
  • Strong relationships with local Alaska associations.
