Jared & Jennifer Huntley: Deployed for Christ
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
Jared and Jennifer Huntley had a heart for military personnel long before they launched Pillar Church of Washington, D.C. Jared had served in the Army and knows firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate the unique challenges of the military culture—especially without Christ. Now the couple is discipling and equipping military personnel and their families to follow Christ, share the gospel and be missionaries if they are moved to other bases or deployed. Jared says to him, it’s a “great way to accomplish the Great Commission.” “They’re already transient,” he said. “If the government is already moving these people all around all over the place naturally, why not … see that as an opportunity to say, ‘Let’s disciple these families and then they’re going to take the gospel with them everywhere.’”
For Jared and Jennifer to have favor on military bases and in the community.
For God to open hearts among military personnel and grow them in their faith so that they can go as missionaries to their future assignments.
This year’s goal to support missionaries working in North America (US, Canada, and their territories) through the NAMB (North American Mission Board) is $2,000. Please join us for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering! The video is available for your viewing pleasure athttps://vimeo.com/645379155

Hey Church –
You’ve probably already heard that there are some changes coming regarding the staffing of our Kids Ministry. In the event that you haven’t heard, both Norma Jean Dodge, our Children’s Coordinator, and Nique Brown, our Nursery Coordinator, have prayerfully decided to step down from their respective positions effective December 31 last year. We’re incredibly grateful for their years of service and for the healthy way in which both ladies are pursuing this change! If you have any questions or concerns regarding the transition of Norma Jean or Nique, please take the time to seek these ladies out and talk to them directly.
As we look towards the future of our Kid’s Ministry here at First Southern Baptist Church, we will be pursuing a single, full time position for the role of Kid’s Coordinator (this position will include oversight of kids, birth – 5th grade). If you’re interested in this position, or know of someone who might be, check out the link below! If you have questions about the position, check out the link below! If you just want to be in the know about the details of this position, check out the link below!
In the meantime, we would greatly appreciate your continued prayers for wisdom and understanding as the Personnel Team is seeking God’s will regarding the individual who will fill this role.
