May 6, 2021 Newsletter

Hey Church!
Beginning Sunday, May 9, we will not be starting a new sermon series. Instead, we will have 4 weeks of stand alone messages. That simply means that each week will have a message that is unique to itself and will not build on a theme, topic, or the previous week’s message. These messages will still be Biblically based with clear application that points to obeying Jesus in our everyday lives. Each week is a brand new opportunity to bring someone to church with you to encounter God through worship, community, and His Word!
                                            April Food Cupboard

Our Next Food Cupboard will be on Saturday, May 8th.  We are in need of a few items before our food cupboard:  Jelly, Peanut Butter, Mac & Cheese, Soup, Ramon Noodles, 1 lb. bag of Rice, 1 lb. bag of Beans.

We also could use your used grocery plastic bags.  We use many each month!
We are so excited to get to celebrate Mother’s Day this coming Sunday with you and your Mom! We have a gift ready for every Mom in attendance along with an opportunity for each Mom to register to win 1 of 3 Gift Baskets worth $200 each!    We can’t wait to see you Sunday!

Graduation Celebration…

You have known her since she was seven years old. You have seen her grown up into the woman that she is today. You have prayed for her through the difficult times and celebrated with her during the good times. Thank you for being such an amazing church family to raise our children in the faith. We would like to invite you to join us Saturday, May 15 for a Come and Go Reception at FSBC from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then on Sunday, May, 16, 2021, we would invite you to either the 9:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. Church Service for Senior Recognition. Then, at 2:30 p.m. at Liberal High School Redskin Field, please join us for Logan’s graduation. Thank you for everything and we ask for your continued prayers through Logan’s new journey at Seward County Community College where she will begin her education to become an Occupational Therapist..
VBS 2021 Destination Dig – – Volunteer Applications Being Accepted

Please mark VBS on your calendar for July 18-22, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m for VBS Destination Dig. VBS is for kids who are 4 years old by September 1 through 8th grade. We would love to have your children and teenagers join us for this huge evangelistic event. We need volunteers for the following areas: teachers, cooks, security, registration, missions, crafts, recreation, music, prayer team, and more.  To join the VBS Crew, click on this link and complete the information needed. You may also reach out to Norma Jean at children@fsbcliberal.com for any questions. VBS Volunteer training begins on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 6:15-7:15 p.m.
If you couldn’t make it to the kickoff meeting, there’s still time to join 1to1! Email 1to1@fsbcliberal.com or contact Shandon Classen at (620) 655-0535 to get more information. We will make sure you get paired up with a 1 that you can get to know better, discuss spiritual growth with, and talk through life with on a regular basis.

1 to 1 is:
  • a relationship-building group to connect churchgoers
  • a regular spiritual and emotional check-in with someone else at FSBC
  • a chance to get to know someone you don’t already know
  • a consistent opportunity to disciple and be discipled with other Christians

1 to 1 is not:
  • a mentorship program
  • a large time commitment
  • difficult to participate in
Dear Camp Sponsors,
We get to have camp this year!  We are excited to start gathering kids, materials, counselors, and monies for the 2021 Camp.  Our theme this year is “Learn the Fundamentals”.  It is a sports theme where we teach the fundamentals of a sport and then relate it to Bible fundamentals.  The kids will learn the fundamentals of salvation, how to keep God first, and then how to persevere when the going gets tough.
Last year due to Covid, we weren’t able to hold camp.  We didn’t contact sponsors or gain financial support.  Our carryover from the year before was: $5,700.  So we are needing $8,000 more to finish the cost of sending kids, counselors and teachers this year.
We will hold a garage sale in Hugoton on Saturday, May 22.  If you have items that you would like to donate, please contact me at : 620-428-1886 and I will make arrangements to pick them up.
Our goal is to have 60 campers, 20 counselors, 5 teachers, and 1 preacher.  We have Pastor Jack Jacob coming again as our preacher.  His wife Keyanne helps me run the camp and also teaches. Their church group from Walters, Oklahoma uses our camp as a mission trip, so we gain several counselors.  Chad and Anna are once again bringing kids from Oklahoma City.
If you would like to sponsor a child, the cost is $140.  This pays for their lodging and food for the week.  Camp week is June 7 – 11.  Please begin praying now for our camp.  Thank you for all your years of support!  Here is the new camp mailing address:
Freedom Cross Road,  Box 715,  Hooker, OK.  73945.

In Christ,
Tonya Hill
Hey Church!

We know that Summer is a crazy busy time for so many of us with vacations, camps, family events, and more. With that in mind, we wanted to let you know in advance what we’ll be doing on Sundays for June and July.
Beginning Sunday, June 6, we will start a new teaching series called, “Snapshots of a Changed Life”. We’ll examine the lives of 8 Biblical characters whose lives were radically changed through an encounter with God. In addition to looking through the stories of these people, we will also begin working towards equipping FSBC as a whole to begin sharing their life change story with others! We can’t wait to see how God is going to use this for His glory and our good! We hope you’ll make plans NOW to be a part of as much of this teaching series as possible!
