Jack Jacob

Send Email

Dr. Jack M. Jacob came to First Southern Baptist Church in September of 2007.  Since his arrival, he has contributed to a renewed sense of vision and ministry in the community.  God has used Pastor Jack to teach First Southern Baptist Church how to look out of its windows to see the mission field.

Pastor Jack has been pastoring for 18 years.  As a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, Pastor Jack surrendered to the call to leave the military and enter the ministry and pastored his first church, Huron Baptist Church, of Huron, South Dakota.  He pastored there from October 1997 to August 1999.  During this time, he also helped to start a church in Woonsocket, South Dakota.  He pastored this church from December 1997 to August 1999 while pastoring in Huron.

As both churches grew quickly, Pastor Jack realized a need for formal theological training.  He first enrolled in Distance Education through Andersonville Theological Seminary of Camilla, GA, where he completed a Master's of Ministry degree in 2000 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in 2001.  He also enrolled and attended classes at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO where he received a Master's of Divinity with an emphasis in North American Church Planting in 2003.

In August of 1999, Pastor Jack became the pastor of Wanamaker Road Baptist Church in Topeka, KS.  He was there just over a year before conflicts within the church forced him to move across town to Seaman Baptist Church where he pastored for the next seven years from Oct 2000 to July of 2007.

Pastor Jack has a heart for people and theological education to make sure that he preaches the Bible accurately.  He has been a blessing to First Southern Baptist Church and to the community of Liberal and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Liberal Ministerial Alliance.

In the Fall, Pastor Jack can be heard on 102.7 The Legend as he provides the play-by-play commentary of local high school football games on the Game of the Week.

Pastor Jack has published a Bible Study on 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, entitled, Followers of God or Followers of Men:  Learning to Follow God in Difficult Times.  This book can be purchased at Amazon or directly from this website.

Pastor Jack has been married to Keyanne since October of 1987 and has two grown children, Clint and Victoria, and they recently adopted Ryann, age 5.

Associate Pastor of Worship and Community

Jeremy Harris

Send Email

Jeremy Harris is our Associate Pastor of Worship and Community and joined the team of the staff of FSBC from a time away from ministry.  Having previously served as a youth pastor with heavy involvement in music, he has brought to First Southern a youthful outlook with a serious and mature spirit.  Jeremy graduated from college with a degree in youth ministry and bible and will be working to coordinate the music and technical aspects of worship as well as helping us to develop outreach groups throughout the area.

Jeremy has provided a breath of fresh air for FSBC in the area of worship ministry.  Through his leadership, the music ministry is growing as people with long dormant skills in music are becoming more involved in serving God through these gifts.  In the short time he has been with us, he has been instrumental in developing young musicians as well.

Jeremy is married to Kathy Reed Harris and they have three children, Addie, Eli, and Ian and have one more on the way!

We are blessed to have him on our team and look forward to all God is doing in and through him!
