Many of you have taken the time to fill out our Fall Worship Survey. Thank You for your input. This Sunday, August 28th is the final day we will be receiving surveys. Please be praying that God will lead us to the best plan for our worship services as we consider the results of the survey. More than anything else, we want to honor God in our gatherings each week. Our Summer sermon series this year is, “He Really Said That?!” We’ll take a look at some of the shocking statements Jesus made during his ministry. Statements like:
- Anger = murder
- Being maimed > continuing to sin
- Unless you hate your family, you cannot be my disciple
These statements can be difficult to swallow in light of the kind, loving, Jesus that we prefer to envision. However, Jesus really said this and a lot more. Check us out Sunday at 11 am to get to the bottom of Jesus’ shocking statements!

It is not too late!!
This year during the fall there will be rehearsal for the Christmas musical! We will meet every Sunday evening from 5-6:30. For grades K-8. Rehearsal will be in Room 203-205 (children’s church room). There are speaking parts and solos available for those who want them. I am excited to work with the kids on this. The link to sign up on church center is provided.

TeamKID is coming back here at FSBC! We are super excited to be offering TeamKID again starting Wednesday, September 7th! TeamKID is designed for Kids in Discipleship! It features Bible memory games and application of Bible truths, engaging missions videos and activities, and fun activity-based learning all while helping your kids grow to be more like Jesus. If you have a child who is 3 years old (as of September 1st) through 5th grade, they are invited to come join us each Wednesday from 6:10-7:30 PM. You can pre-register your kids by clicking here.

Our next food cupboard will be on Saturday, Sept. 10th from 10 – 11 AM.
If you have any questions about the food cupboard or maybe you would like to help with the food cupboard on distribution day or help make the food bags before distribution day, please talk with Cheryl Dreitz at 620-655-3548.

Women’s Bible Study is starting on Tuesday, September 13th at 9:30 AM in room 210. If you are interested in this study, The Gospel of Mark, please go by the welcome desk and sign up or call Shari Abbott at 620-655-6214 so we can get study books ordered.

Beginning Sunday, September 11, we’ll begin our fall teaching series called, “The Church Next Door”, a study of 1 Corinthians.
Whether or not we admit it, most churchgoers have a “church crush”: a church or ministry that we look at and think, “Wow. Now, that’s how you do church.” The tendency to look at another church down the road or online and think it has to be better than our local church is more than common. As we dive into 1 Corinthians, we will dispel the myth of the perfect church and help us find joy in being part of the family that makes up our home church.

Small Groups here at FSBC Liberal encompass a few different types of groups. We have Sunday School classes that meet weekly all year long, we have Community Groups that meet in homes on various evenings, and we have special Bible Study groups that will meet for a specified time to study something specific.
As we head into the Fall, we are excited by the idea that every person in our congregation would be involved in a small group of some sort! Are you in a group? Would you consider hosting or leading a group? Pastor Jeremy would love to talk to you about the groups we currently have or about starting a new group this fall!
