“In Liberal as in Heaven” is a series about living heavenly values right here in Liberal – at home, at work, in your neighborhood, at grocery stores and restaurants, while resting and competing. When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, part of that prayer was, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”. Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God more than any other subject during his ministry… Maybe it’s time we talked about it too!

“United: Called To Be One” Is this year’s theme for our Annie Armstrong Offering.

Reaching people for Christ in North America through the North American Mission Board (NAMB).

With this year’s goal of $2,000 we can read stories of how NAMB is using funds to reach places where people need to hear the words of Christ and given them the opportunity to respond, with “Yes Lord, here am I”.
Vergil & Kelsey Brown: A Front-Row Seat        Portland, Oregon

Oregon is one of the least-churched states in the nation. It’s where Vergil and Kelsey Brown planted one successful church in Portland and after 10 years, felt God’s call to leave it in the hands of a new pastor and plant again.

The family moved to a part of the city that might as well have been another world away—especially for the couple’s kids. For people in the Brown’s community, Christians are an oddity.

“Most of our neighbors do not know a single Christian, but they ask questions. We quickly had to get comfortable with that. God is leading them to Christ through relationships,” says Vergil.

The Browns started with a home prayer group that quickly grew into Redemption Church.

The church is now growing in attendance and baptisms and hopes to soon launch additional church plants.

“I’m hooked on church planting now and just doing bold things for Jesus,” says Vergil. “It was scary. It was really scary, but we’re so glad we did it.”

Prayer Requests
  • Redemption Church to be faithful and bold in their
    evangelism efforts.
  • Unity in the growing young church.
  • Joy in the journey for the Brown family.

Hey Church!!

In case you haven’t heard yet, we’re putting on an egg hunt for our community with 20,000 eggs!!! We’re calling it 20K Egg Day! Why? Because we want to serve our community and invite as many people to church on Easter Sunday as possible!

On Saturday, April 8th at 1pm at LHS’s practice football field we will scatter 20K eggs and have egg hunts for the following age groups: 0-3 years old, 4-7 years old, and 8-11 years old. We’ll have bounce houses for kids to play on as well. We’re praying that God will send hundreds and hundreds of families to participate in the egg hunt so we can personally invite them to worship with us on Easter Sunday during one of our two worship services – 9:30 or 11am.

If you have any questions about this event or would like to volunteer to serve, let us know! Please email Pastor Mark (
pastor@fsbcliberal) with your questions or to let us know where you want to serve. Here are the serving opportunities:
  • Registration (x3) – help guests register for the event on the day of, or answer general questions
  • Greeters (x5) – greet guests as they arrive. Smile and wave big! Be prepared to answer general questions
  • Field Generals (x12) – spread eggs across our three age ranges, man the ropes around each field to keep kiddos from jumping the gun, and be available to answer general questions
  • Bounce House attendants (x8-10) – Supervise bounce houses to ensure kid safety
