The Prophecy

Dec 7, 2025    Andrew Puett

The sermon explored Genesis 3:15, known as the "Proto-Evangelium" or first gospel, where God promised that the seed of the woman would one day crush the serpent's head, though his heel would be bruised in the process. This ancient prophecy, spoken immediately after Adam and Eve's sin, set in motion God's entire plan of redemption that would culminate thousands of years later at Calvary. We traced how this promise narrowed from all humanity through Noah, Abraham, and David, ultimately pointing to Jesus Christ—born of a virgin in Bethlehem. The cross, which appeared to be Satan's victory, was actually God's death blow against the enemy, crushing his head while only bruising Christ's heel.
