A Theological Understanding

The sermon opened a brand-new series on what C.S. Lewis called the most distinctive idea within the Christian faith: grace. The message walked through five essential biblical background issues that help us understand what grace truly is and why it matters so deeply. Beginning with the nature of God, moving through the law, the human condition, the Old Testament sacrificial system, and ultimately arriving at Jesus himself, the sermon built a theological foundation for understanding how grace works and what it cost. Grace was defined as that which is freely given and totally undeserved, a gift we receive rather than a reward we earn.
