Extending Grace

The sermon continued our series, Understanding Grace, with a close look at John chapter 8 and the account of a woman brought before Jesus by the scribes and Pharisees. Through three movements -- the trap of self-righteousness, the level ground of the cross, and grace that restores -- we examined how Jesus dismantled a self-righteous mob, restored the dignity of a broken woman, and extended mercy without excusing sin. The message challenged each of us to honestly assess the stones we carry toward others and to extend the same scandalously generous grace that Jesus has extended to us.
