Washed by Grace

This week's sermon took us into the Upper Room on that fateful Thursday night before Jesus' crucifixion, where we witnessed an extraordinary act of humility—Jesus washing His disciples' feet. Through Peter's shocked response to this servant act, we explored the profound truth that we are not imaginary sinners but great sinners who desperately need a great Savior. The sermon revealed how foot washing symbolizes both our initial salvation (the complete bath) and our ongoing need for daily cleansing as we walk through this dirty world. Just as Jesus stooped to wash dirty, smelly feet—a task reserved only for slaves—He humbled Himself to die on a cross to wash away our sins.
