Touched by Mercy

The sermon explored the story of Peter cutting off Malchus' ear when soldiers came to arrest Jesus (Luke 22:49-51). In this forgotten miracle of Easter, we see Peter's impulsive attempt to "save" Jesus through violence, and Christ's stunning response—healing the very enemy who came to harm Him. This passage challenges us to examine how we react when our world spins out of control and reminds us that in Christ's kingdom, the values of the world are turned completely upside down. Victory comes not through overpowering others, but through yielding to God's perfect plan.
