Pressing On: The Runner, The Warning, and The Promised Kingdom

The sermon explored Philippians 3:12-21, where the Apostle Paul pulls back the curtain on his own spiritual journey and offers a master class on how to run the race of faith without stopping, retreating, or giving up. Drawing on the image of a long-distance race, the message challenged us to release both past failures and past achievements, fix our eyes on the finish line, and press forward with renewed discipline and passion. Paul's words remind us that the Christian life is not a museum exhibit where we display old trophies -- it is an ongoing, forward-leaning pursuit of Jesus Christ. Whether we have been held back by shame or lulled into complacency by past success, the call of Scripture is the same: strain forward, hold the ground God has given you, and live as a citizen of heaven in everything you do.
